Upcoming Programs for Norfolk Adult Day Programs :

Simcoe Alzheimer’s Program:
Fall has arrived at the Alzheimer’s Adult Day Program! We are looking forward to the exciting things coming our way this season. We had a jam-packed, fun filled summer and ready to take on the cooler weather and excitement that goes along with it. We were excited with the start of the school year welcoming back our friends from Mr. Auld’s Grade 3/4 class from Lynndale Heights! This intergenerational program has always been a hit with our seniors and students alike. We are also excited to continue our partnership with the Early Years Centre, welcoming toddlers and parent to our program. October is filled with spooky crafts and engaging programs focused around stimulating our clients cognitive and physical functioning.

As we roll into November we will take time to reflect on our veterans and pay tribute to those no longer with us. We continue to appreciate the volunteers who come in and provide our clients with wonderful musical programs and pet therapy. These programs give the clients an opportunity to reflect on years gone by and reminisce on loving memories they hold dear. No matter what we are doing, one thing is for sure we will be having a good time here at the Adult Day Program!!

Adult Day Programming:
It has been a busy and productive year so far at the Simcoe Frail Adult Day Program.  We have enjoyed the warm sunny weather and now look forward to a busy fall and winter. In August, we enjoyed outings to the Lighthouse Theatre in Port Dover and Cottonwood Mansion in Selkirk, these are two favourites that people continue to really like.  We also had some great entertainers in the last few months.  The Back County Boys, and Birdtown Band provided some high-quality bluegrass music.

Ken Lightheart and Don Dunham will be entertaining for our annual Christmas party in December for clients and families.  Christmas will of course be full of fun, engaging programs, including, but not limited to: Pass the Parcel, Bingo, Monopoly, Karaoke, Charades, Drum Circles, Sing-Alongs, and arts and crafts and homemade Christmas Cards.
