In April John Moorhouse entertained, he brought the clients some sports memorabilia from the Vancouver Canucks.   A Volunteer appreciation event was held in the Grandview Lodge auditorium to thank all our Haldimand volunteers for all they do for us.  We celebrated earth day and talked about things we can do to save the earth.  In May we received a generous donation of plants and planted our gardens early this year.  The Free Spirits came in to entertain as well as our volunteer Gisela came in and did a wonderful set of music on the piano for our Mother’s Day tea.  The Haldimand Museum came in to share the History of the Royal family as we prepared to celebrate of the wedding of Prince Harry and Megan Markle.  In June we celebrated summer with Banana Split day and played a game of t-ball with the Dunnville Christian School group for their last visit before summer.  The Haldimand County Museum came in to do a presentation on the History for Father’s Day and the clients enjoyed entertainment with Sound Medicine.   We ended the month with a speaker Lynn Veld from Hearing Life to tell us all about the importance of hearing and how hearing aides can give us a better quality of life. Looking forward to some summertime fun!

It has been a busy and exciting last few months at the Hagersville Adult Day Program.  We have engaged in a variety of exciting programs, including:  Piñata fun for Cinco de Mayo; monthly visits with the kids from Walpole North Elementary School; and enjoying good entertainment from Gary and Jane’s country classics; the unique musical stylings of folk singer Ian Bell; our new entertainer Dan Fewings; and the popular country-bluegrass bands Get ‘R Done and the Old Barn Doors.  We also enjoyed an outing to the White Horse Bowling Alley in Simcoe, enjoyed by all with strikes and spares! Looking forward to some Summertime fun!
